QuickVerse™
How to Use QuickVerse
QuickVerse provides a fast, convenient way to copy Bible verses into sermons, lesson outlines, or other documents.
Entering Bible References
Enter a Bible reference like John 3:16 in the input field at the bottom of the page. Press the Enter key or select the submit button in the lower right corner. QuickVerse will retrieve the text and display it on a "card" in the box in the middle of the page.
QuickVerse recognizes most abbreviations for books of the Bible, like Jn for "John". Don't put a period after the abbreviation. You can use English or Spanish book names regardless of the language of the Bible.
QuickVerse recognizes ranges, like John 3:16-18. You can put multiple references on one line, separated by a just about anything as long as it can't be misinterpreted as part of the Bible reference. Each reference must be complete. Proverbs 1:7; 9:10 won't work but Proverbs 1:7; Proverbs 9:10 will.
QuickVerse finds verse references in whatever you put in the input field. It can be a whole paragraph containing just a couple of references. QuickVerse ignores the other text and finds the Bible references.
Copying Verses
You can copy verses one-at-a-time to the clipboard by selecting the copy button in the lower right corner of the card containing the verse.
To copy several verses, check the box in the lower right corner of each verse, then select the copy button in the banner.
To copy all the verses, check the box in the banner to select all verses, then select the copy button in the banner to copy them. Once all verses are selected, the check box in the banner will un-select them.
You can drag a verse from QuickVerse into your document by first using the selection cursor button in the lower right corner of the card to select the entire verse. Then just drag and drop. (This may not work on mobile devices.)
To clear the list, select the trash can icon in the banner.

About QuickVerse
This app shares a name with an earlier program called QuickVerse, but it is not a newer version of that program. In fact, other than the name and the fact that it gives you access to the Bible, it has nothing in common with it.
Craig Rairdin wrote the original QuickVerse program for DOS in 1988, and later ported it to Windows. Craig sold QuickVerse to Intuit in 1997, and it subsequently went through a number of owners until it was finally discontinued in 2011.
Meanwhile, in 1998, Craig founded Laridian, Inc., and wrote PocketBible — an entirely new program, unrelated to his original QuickVerse, but grounded in what he had learned about computerized Bible study over the previous 10 years.
By 2024, the original QuickVerse had been off the market for a dozen or more years and the "QuickVerse" trademark registration had both expired and been abandoned. With a nod to its historical significance and a recognition of the name's suitability to his current project, Craig chose 'QuickVerse' as the name of this new app, designed to help you quickly access Bible verses and integrate them into your documents.
